Job Summary
KidsFirst NGO is dedicated to providing holistic support and care for underprivileged and vulnerable children. We are seeking a compassionate and committed Child Care Worker to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting children in their daily activities, promoting their emotional, social, and educational development, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for child welfare, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and supervision for children in line with the NGO’s policies and standards.
- Support the emotional, social, and educational development of children through structured activities and individualized attention.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, behavior, and incidents.
- Work closely with parents, caregivers, and social workers to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
- Assist in organizing and conducting educational programs, recreational activities, and workshops for children.
- Identify and report any signs of abuse, neglect, or developmental concerns promptly.
- Support fundraising and awareness initiatives that benefit child welfare programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment for all children under care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behavior with patience and empathy.
- Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literacy for record-keeping and reporting.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with children in NGOs, childcare centers, or social work settings preferred.
- Hands-on experience in supporting children with diverse backgrounds and needs is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility required for occasional evening or weekend events.
