Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand product requirements, design documents, and user stories to prepare effective test plans and test cases.
  • Execute comprehensive manual tests across various functionalities, identifying bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies.
  • Report and document defects clearly with detailed steps, screenshots, and severity levels.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and improvements.
  • Validate bug fixes and verify changes to ensure functionality aligns with product expectations.
  • Perform regression, integration, and exploratory testing to maintain product stability.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review sessions to provide quality insights and suggestions.
  • Assist in improving QA processes and documentation for better testing efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to company’s quality standards, timelines, and compliance protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Manual QA Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or TestRail.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in manual software testing.
  • Experience in web and mobile applications testing is preferred.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments is a plus.
  • Prior experience in working with cross-functional teams and handling customer-facing products is beneficial.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with flexible remote work hours.
  • Preferably 9 AM – 6 PM IST, but adjustable based on team coordination and project requirements.
  • Occasional participation in meetings outside regular hours may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies quickly.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced project changes and timelines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of automation tools is a plus but not required.
