Position: Systematics Software Engineer

About the Role

Zillion Technologies, Inc. is looking for an experienced Systematics Software Engineer to join our high-impact Retail Bank Technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support robust financial applications leveraging FIS/Systematics and COBOL, while solving complex integration challenges in a collaborative, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain reusable software solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Perform systems analysis, prepare technical specifications, and develop application programs using COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
• Develop and support financial applications across GN, RM, MA, IM, and ST modules within FIS/Systematics.
• Implement and maintain application programs and data interfaces, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate across teams to influence technical decisions and drive innovation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and resolve critical issues promptly.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with FIS/Systematics in a financial services environment.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and IBM mainframe systems.
• Experience with batch and CICS application development (5+ years).
• Working knowledge of Ad Hoc reporting tools (e.g., Easytrieve, DYL).
• Familiarity with mainframe utilities (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, or automated testing tools.
• Knowledge of cloud integration models (AWS or similar) is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to provide on-call support for mission-critical systems.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required).
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
