Job Summary

Hospital Jobs is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Online Medical Proofreader and Editor to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and an excellent command of English, capable of reviewing, proofreading, and editing a variety of medical documents, including research papers, clinical reports, patient information, and manuscripts. This role ensures that all content is accurate, clear, and compliant with industry standards, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit medical documents, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.

  • Verify medical terminology and ensure accuracy of information in documents.

  • Review manuscripts, research papers, clinical reports, and other medical content for clarity, consistency, and readability.

  • Collaborate with authors, researchers, and medical professionals to clarify ambiguities and ensure quality.

  • Ensure compliance with medical writing and publication standards.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information.

  • Suggest improvements in content structure and language flow where needed.

  • Track revisions and provide detailed feedback to content creators.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Life Sciences, Medicine, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and scientific writing.

  • Exceptional command of the English language, grammar, and style.

  • Proficiency in proofreading, editing, and formatting tools (MS Word, Grammarly, Track Changes).

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in medical proofreading, editing, or scientific writing preferred.

  • Experience working with medical manuscripts, clinical reports, or research papers is highly advantageous.

  • Previous remote work experience is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Fully remote, flexible working hours.
