Job Summary
UrbanCare Family Staffing is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced weekend nanny to provide exceptional care for children in a busy Manhattan household. The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, while assisting with educational and recreational activities. This is a live-out, weekend position, perfect for candidates with a strong background in childcare who thrive in structured and flexible settings.
Key Responsibilities

Provide attentive and loving care to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Plan and engage children in age-appropriate educational, recreational, and developmental activities.

Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, and assist with feeding as needed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for children.

Assist with bedtime routines, homework, and other daily schedules.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress, activities, and any concerns.

Manage light household tasks related to childcare (e.g., laundry, tidying play areas).

Ensure adherence to family-specific rules, routines, and values.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider, preferably in a similar high-demand urban environment.

Strong knowledge of child development, age-appropriate activities, and safety protocols.

First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and parents.

Patience, adaptability, and a positive, proactive attitude.

Ability to manage multiple children and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years of professional nanny or childcare experience.

Experience with infants, toddlers, and/or school-aged children is highly preferred.

Previous weekend or flexible schedule work experience is advantageous.
Working Hours

Weekend role: Saturday and Sunday.

Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible based on family needs).

Occasional additional hours or special events may be required with prior notice.
