Job Summary

UrbanCare Family Staffing is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced weekend nanny to provide exceptional care for children in a busy Manhattan household. The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, while assisting with educational and recreational activities. This is a live-out, weekend position, perfect for candidates with a strong background in childcare who thrive in structured and flexible settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and loving care to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

• Plan and engage children in age-appropriate educational, recreational, and developmental activities.

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, and assist with feeding as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for children.

• Assist with bedtime routines, homework, and other daily schedules.

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress, activities, and any concerns.

• Manage light household tasks related to childcare (e.g., laundry, tidying play areas).

• Ensure adherence to family-specific rules, routines, and values.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider, preferably in a similar high-demand urban environment.

• Strong knowledge of child development, age-appropriate activities, and safety protocols.

• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and parents.

• Patience, adaptability, and a positive, proactive attitude.

• Ability to manage multiple children and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional nanny or childcare experience.

• Experience with infants, toddlers, and/or school-aged children is highly preferred.

• Previous weekend or flexible schedule work experience is advantageous.

Working Hours

• Weekend role: Saturday and Sunday.

• Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible based on family needs).

• Occasional additional hours or special events may be required with prior notice.

• Deep understanding of child safety, nutrition, and hygiene practices.

• Ability to create engaging, educational, and fun activities tailored to children’s needs.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
