Job Summary

AquaSail Luxury Cruises is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our onboard duty-free shop team. This role is central to delivering an exceptional shopping experience to our cruise guests, combining product knowledge, sales expertise, and superior guest service. Key Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional, and personalized shopping experience to all cruise guests.

• Promote and sell duty-free products, including perfumes, cosmetics, fashion accessories, and luxury goods.

• Maintain organized, visually appealing merchandise displays and ensure stock is accurately labeled and presented.

• Handle cash, card, and onboard account transactions accurately, following company financial procedures.

• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking and reporting low-stock items.

• Stay informed about promotions, product launches, and industry trends to actively drive sales.

• Resolve customer inquiries or complaints efficiently and courteously, escalating when necessary.

• Collaborate with fellow team members and contribute to a positive onboard work environment.

• Ensure compliance with all duty-free and customs regulations as well as company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in retail or customer service is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests from diverse backgrounds.

• Proven sales aptitude with the ability to meet and exceed targets.

• Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of retail sales experience, preferably in luxury or duty-free settings.

• Experience in a hospitality or cruise environment is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Working Hours

• Full-time onboard role with rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Hours may vary depending on cruise schedules and port arrivals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of luxury retail products and trends.

• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and in a multicultural environment.

• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries diplomatically.

• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift merchandise as required.
