Job Summary

OceanGlide Cruises is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to join our dynamic human resources team. This role is pivotal in supporting the recruitment and welfare management of our onboard crew, ensuring that applicant screening, onboarding, and employee support processes align with our high standards of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between potential crew members, current employees, and HR management, providing seamless assistance that contributes to an exceptional workplace experience at sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in screening and shortlisting applicants for various onboard positions, ensuring alignment with company policies and role requirements.

  • Support HR managers in scheduling interviews, maintaining applicant records, and coordinating communication with candidates.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and databases for crew members.

  • Assist in onboarding processes, including preparation of contracts, compliance checks, and orientation schedules.

  • Provide ongoing welfare support to crew members, addressing HR-related inquiries, benefits, and wellbeing concerns.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of HR activities and employee services.

  • Contribute to HR reporting, including tracking recruitment metrics and employee satisfaction indicators.

  • Assist in organizing training programs, workshops, and wellness initiatives for crew members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, employee relations, and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with crew from diverse backgrounds.

  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR information systems (HRIS).

  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in HR support, recruitment, or administrative roles, preferably within the hospitality, travel, or cruise industry.

  • Experience in international or multicultural work environments is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Standard office hours, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate international communication and crew schedules.

  • Position may require occasional remote coordination with onboard staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle HR issues empathetically and efficiently.

  • Familiarity with employment laws, labor regulations, and maritime HR compliance is a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking initiative independently.

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic organizational environment.
