Job Summary
Rand Water is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Water Quality Technician – Compliance and Sampling to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that water quality standards are consistently met and regulatory compliance is maintained across all water treatment and distribution processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong technical background, and the ability to analyze and interpret water quality data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine and specialized water sampling at various points across treatment plants and distribution networks.

Perform comprehensive laboratory testing to monitor physical, chemical, and microbiological water quality parameters.

Ensure compliance with national water quality standards, environmental regulations, and internal policies.

Analyze and interpret laboratory data, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential risks to water safety.

Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal and regulatory authorities.

Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sampling and laboratory analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and environmental management to address water quality concerns.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians, fostering knowledge transfer and technical growth.

Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning for accurate test results.

Required Skills and Qualifications

National Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Water Resource Management, or related field.

Strong knowledge of water quality standards, regulatory compliance, and environmental legislation.

Experience
