Job Summary

Mediclinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (ENA) to join our surgical ward team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to registered nurses and medical staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth ward operations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized surgical environment while assisting patients with their daily needs and medical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and mobilization.

• Prepare and maintain surgical wards, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for procedures.

• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly.

• Assist with the preparation and transport of patients for surgical procedures.

• Support the administration of medications under supervision, adhering to Mediclinic protocols.

• Manage medical supplies and ensure stock levels are adequate.

• Provide emotional support to patients and their families, promoting a compassionate care environment.

• Assist in documentation and record-keeping as required by hospital standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (ENA) certification or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of basic nursing procedures and hospital protocols.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Experience

• Previous experience as an ENA or similar role in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred but not mandatory.

• Exposure to surgical ward procedures and patient care is an advantage.

Working Hours

• Full-time position, including shift work as per ward requirements.

• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as needed.
