Job Summary

Connections Academy is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Remote Special Education Case Manager to join our dedicated online education team. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing special education services for students in a virtual learning environment. The Case Manager will ensure that Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are effectively implemented, progress is monitored, and compliance with federal and state regulations is maintained. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students with special needs and oversee the implementation of their IEPs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are applied.

• Conduct virtual IEP meetings, coordinate evaluations, and ensure timely completion of all documentation in compliance with legal requirements.

• Monitor and report student progress, providing feedback and recommendations for interventions or support services.

• Maintain accurate student records and documentation within the school’s management systems.

• Assist with the development and delivery of individualized instruction plans aligned with state standards.

• Advocate for students’ educational, social, and emotional needs while promoting an inclusive learning environment.

• Stay informed on best practices in special education, including updates to laws, instructional methods, and digital learning tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Valid state certification in Special Education.

• Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and other applicable special education laws.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of organization and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with virtual learning platforms, online communication tools, and student management systems.

• Empathetic approach with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in special education case management, preferably in an online or hybrid educational environment.

• Experience conducting IEP meetings, writing IEPs, and ensuring compliance with special education regulations.

Working Hours

• Full-time, remote position.

• Flexible schedule aligned with school hours and student needs.

• Occasional evening availability may be required for meetings with families or team members across different time zones.
