Job Summary
The American Red Cross is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Part-Time Remote Patient Appointment Scheduler to support our mission of delivering critical healthcare and humanitarian services nationwide. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating patient appointments, verifying information, and providing excellent customer service to individuals in need of blood donations, medical procedures, or related services. Key Responsibilities

Schedule and confirm patient and donor appointments via phone, email, or online systems.

Accurately enter and update patient information into the scheduling database.

Coordinate with healthcare staff, donors, and patients to ensure seamless appointment flow.

Respond to inquiries regarding availability, procedures, and appointment details with professionalism and empathy.

Manage rescheduling and cancellations promptly to maximize operational efficiency.

Follow HIPAA and Red Cross privacy protocols to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth day-to-day operations and resolve scheduling conflicts.

Provide exceptional customer support by maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor in all interactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.

Experience

1–2 years of experience in scheduling, administrative support, or customer service roles (preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or call center environments).

Working Hours

Part-Time: 20–25 hours per week.

Flexible shifts available between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (local time), Monday through Friday.

Occasional weekend availability may be required during peak periods.
