Job Summary
CourtSpeak Digital is seeking a highly skilled Remote Legal Audio Transcriber to join our growing team of legal documentation professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately converting legal audio recordings—such as court proceedings, depositions, hearings, and attorney dictations—into well-formatted written documents. This position requires exceptional listening accuracy, strong grammar proficiency, and an ability to handle sensitive legal information with the highest level of confidentiality. You will work remotely and collaborate with attorneys, legal staff, and internal teams to ensure timely and precise transcription outputs.
Key Responsibilities

Transcribe legal audio files including testimonies, depositions, interviews, and court sessions with high accuracy.

Review and edit drafts for clarity, grammar, and formatting while ensuring legal terminology is used correctly.

Maintain strict confidentiality of all client materials and adhere to data security protocols.

Follow client-specific formatting guidelines and turnaround requirements.

Research unfamiliar legal terms or references to ensure complete understanding and accuracy.

Submit completed transcripts within assigned deadlines and ensure all deliverables meet quality standards.

Communicate with team leads regarding progress, workload, or any issues affecting turnaround.

Keep updated with industry best practices, transcription tools, and legal terminology trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation formats.

Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 70 WPM preferred).

Exceptional listening skills with the ability to understand multiple accents and fast-paced speech.

High attention to detail with strong proofreading and grammar skills.

Proficiency using transcription software, audio enhancers, and word processing tools.

Ability to manage multiple files and meet strict deadlines.

Reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a quiet workspace.
Experience

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in legal transcription, court reporting, or legal documentation roles.

Experience transcribing court, arbitration, or law enforcement recordings is highly desirable.

Prior remote-work experience is an added advantage.
Working Hours
