Job Summary

Horizon Bank is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Entry-Level Bank Teller to join our front-line service team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences while handling a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance for their banking needs.

  • Process routine transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, and loan payments.

  • Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift.

  • Identify customer needs and refer them to appropriate banking products or services.

  • Verify customer identification and follow security procedures to prevent fraud.

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, and bank services.

  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.

  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard customer information at all times.

  • Support branch operations and assist team members as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).

  • Basic understanding of financial principles and customer service etiquette.

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to operate computers, banking software, and standard office equipment.

  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.

  • Ability to handle cash responsibly and follow security measures.

Experience

  • No prior banking experience required.

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or cash-handling roles is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Full training will be provided for successful candidates.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position (typically 40 hours per week).

  • Standard banking hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday rotations depending on branch schedule.

  • Flexibility may be required during peak periods.

  • Knowledge of basic banking operations and customer service practices.

  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend suitable financial products.
