Job Summary

Federal Bank is seeking motivated, detail-oriented, and service-driven graduates for the role of Banking Operations Trainee under its Hire–Train–Deploy (HTD) program. This role is designed to build future-ready banking professionals by providing structured training, hands-on exposure, and on-the-job deployment across core banking operations. The trainee will gain comprehensive experience in branch operations, customer service, compliance, and digital banking processes while contributing to the Bank’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day branch and back-office banking operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Support customer service functions, including account opening, KYC documentation, and service requests.

  • Handle transactional activities such as deposits, withdrawals, remittances, and clearing operations under supervision.

  • Ensure adherence to Federal Bank’s policies, RBI guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Maintain proper documentation and records for operational and audit purposes.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and improve service turnaround time.

  • Learn and support digital banking platforms, core banking systems, and process automation initiatives.

  • Participate actively in structured training programs, assessments, and performance reviews as part of the HTD model.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

  • Strong communication skills in English (knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage).

  • Basic understanding of banking products, services, and financial concepts.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Experience

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Candidates with up to 1 year of experience in banking, financial services, operations, or customer service will have an added advantage.

  • Prior internship or training exposure in banks or financial institutions is desirable but not mandatory.

Working Hours

  • Full-time role with standard banking hours, typically Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays, as per bank policy.

  • May require flexibility in working hours during peak periods, audits, or operational exigencies.

  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.

  • Basic numerical ability and comfort with data handling and reporting.
