Job Summary

Tata Projects is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Highway Engineer to join its Infrastructure Division, supporting prestigious NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) projects across India. This role is ideal for early-career civil engineers who are passionate about highway design, construction, and quality execution. The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of national highway projects in compliance with statutory and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, execution, and monitoring of highway and road infrastructure projects under NHAI guidelines.

  • Support site engineers in day-to-day construction activities including earthwork, pavements, bridges, and drainage structures.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure accurate on-site implementation.

  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants for smooth project execution.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety norms, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain site records, daily progress reports, measurements, and documentation as per project requirements.

  • Assist in material inspections, testing, and quality control procedures.

  • Identify site issues and support senior engineers in resolving technical and execution challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

  • Strong understanding of highway engineering fundamentals and construction practices.

  • Basic knowledge of IRC, MORTH, and NHAI specifications.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic project management tools.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as per project requirements.

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in highway, road, or infrastructure projects.

  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships or site exposure in highway projects are encouraged to apply.

  • Prior experience in NHAI or large EPC infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time role, typically 6 days a week, aligned with project site schedules.

  • Working hours may vary based on construction activities and project deadlines.
