Job Summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2D/3D CAD Technician (AutoCAD Civil 3D) to support its infrastructure and transportation design projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate technical drawings and 3D models for highways, railways, metro systems, and urban infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and adherence to international design standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil infrastructure projects.

  • Develop alignments, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, and surfaces in Civil 3D.

  • Assist engineers and designers in translating conceptual and preliminary designs into detailed construction drawings.

  • Modify and update drawings based on design reviews, client comments, and site requirements.

  • Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and quality control procedures.

  • Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, drainage, and MEP teams to ensure integrated design outputs.

  • Maintain organized CAD files, drawing registers, and version control documentation.

  • Support preparation of tender drawings, as-built drawings, and technical reports as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Good understanding of civil engineering drawings related to roads, railways, utilities, and drainage.

  • Ability to interpret engineering design data, survey information, and specifications.

  • Knowledge of CAD standards, layering systems, and drawing conventions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Experience

  • 2–6 years of relevant experience as a CAD Technician or Draftsperson in civil infrastructure projects.

  • Prior experience working on transportation, urban infrastructure, or large-scale engineering projects is highly preferred.

  • Experience in consultancy or EPC environments will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position

  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on project requirements and deadlines.

  • Strong technical knowledge of civil drafting and modeling workflows.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines efficiently.

  • Understanding of international and Indian design standards and best practices.

  • Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also supporting team objectives.
