Job Summary
AECOM India is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Geotechnical Engineer – Soil Analysis to support geotechnical investigations and engineering studies for infrastructure, transportation, buildings, and industrial projects. The role involves soil and rock analysis, interpretation of geotechnical data, preparation of technical reports, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and executing geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, borehole logging, and field testing

Perform laboratory and field-based soil and rock analysis (SPT, CPT, triaxial, consolidation, compaction, etc.)

Interpret geotechnical data and support the preparation of geotechnical design parameters
-
Assist in the design of foundations, retaining structures, slopes, embankments, and ground improvement solutions
-
Prepare geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
-
Support site supervision, inspections, and coordination with contractors and site engineers
-
Ensure compliance with Indian and international codes, standards, and AECOM quality procedures
-
Collaborate with civil, structural, environmental, and project management teams
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
-
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical principles
-
Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and reporting
-
Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SAFE, or similar) is an advantage
-
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
-
Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
-
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Experience
-
0–3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or soil investigation

Fresh graduates with strong academic performance and internship exposure are encouraged to apply

Experience in infrastructure, transportation, or building projects is preferred

Standard working hours: Monday to Friday

Occasional site visits and extended hours may be required based on project needs
