Job Summary

Jacobs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer – Water and Wastewater Treatment to join our growing infrastructure and environmental engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to contribute to the planning, design, analysis, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment projects that support sustainable development and public health. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Junior Engineer will gain hands-on exposure to innovative technologies, international standards, and multidisciplinary project environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, design, and evaluation of water supply, wastewater treatment, and sewage management systems.

  • Support preparation of engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and design documentation.

  • Participate in process design activities including hydraulic calculations, treatment process selection, and equipment sizing.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers.

  • Review technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documents under supervision.

  • Support site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as required.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and preparation of feasibility and concept studies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Basic understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and systems.

  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic hydraulic or process modeling tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.

  • Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and relevant internships are encouraged to apply.

  • Exposure to consulting engineering environments or infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.

  • Flexibility may be required to meet project deadlines or attend site visits.

  • Hybrid or flexible working arrangements may be available based on project needs and location.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of conventional and advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies.

  • Understanding of environmental regulations, design standards, and sustainability principles.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design reports.
