Job Summary
WSP India is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Environmental Engineer – ESG and Sustainability to support the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across infrastructure, energy, buildings, and industrial projects. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about sustainability, climate resilience, and responsible development. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver ESG strategies, sustainability assessments, environmental compliance, and climate-focused solutions aligned with national and international standards.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement ESG and sustainability strategies for infrastructure and development projects.

Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA), sustainability appraisals, and ESG risk assessments.

Support clients in ESG reporting, disclosures, and compliance with global frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, SASB, SDGs).

Perform carbon footprint assessments, life cycle assessments (LCA), and climate risk and resilience studies.

Advise on environmental management plans, resource efficiency, waste management, and biodiversity conservation.

Collaborate with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to embed sustainability principles into project design and delivery.

Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with Indian environmental laws and international best practices.

Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.

Support business development activities, proposals, and sustainability advisory services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, sustainability standards, and environmental regulations.

Experience with environmental assessments, sustainability reporting, and climate-related studies.

Proficiency in data analysis, environmental modeling tools, and MS Office applications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience

3–8 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, ESG consulting, or sustainability roles.

Experience working with consulting firms, infrastructure projects, or corporate sustainability teams is preferred.

Exposure to international projects and global ESG standards will be an added advantage.
