Job Summary

AVA Design Studio is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to support our growing interior fit-out projects. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is eager to build strong technical and commercial skills within a creative, fast-paced design and execution environment. The successful candidate will assist in cost planning, quantity take-offs, budgeting, and financial control of interior fit-out works across residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for interior fit-out projects.

• Support cost estimation, budgeting, and cost planning at various project stages.

• Monitor project costs, variations, and changes to ensure budgets are maintained.

• Assist in preparing tender documents, evaluating contractor quotations, and comparative statements.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate cost control.

• Support preparation of interim valuations, payment certifications, and final accounts.

• Maintain proper documentation, cost reports, and financial records for ongoing projects.

• Assist senior quantity surveyors in contract administration and value engineering exercises.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of interior fit-out works, materials, finishes, and specifications.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic knowledge of estimation or QS software.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and design documents.

• Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost control.

• Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and internship exposure in interior fit-outs are encouraged to apply.

• Prior exposure to residential, commercial, or hospitality interiors will be an advantage.

Working Hours

• Full-time position

• Monday to Saturday

• Standard working hours with flexibility based on project requirements and site coordination.
