Job Summary:

HCLTech is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Network Security Engineer with Cisco certification to join our dynamic IT security team. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring network security solutions to protect our infrastructure and sensitive data. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the configuration, deployment, and management of Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Monitor network traffic and identify potential security threats or vulnerabilities.

• Support incident response activities and assist in troubleshooting network security issues.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement security policies, access controls, and best practices.

• Participate in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis activities.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security incidents, and protocols.

• Stay current with emerging network security technologies, Cisco tools, and industry best practices.

• Provide technical support to internal teams and clients on network security concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification required.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, routing, and switching).

• Basic knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security information/event management (SIEM) systems.

• Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

• 0–2 years of experience in network security, IT support, or related fields.

• Hands-on exposure to Cisco devices and network troubleshooting is highly desirable.

• Experience in enterprise IT environments is a plus but not mandatory.

Working Hours:

• Standard working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

• Flexibility may be required for urgent security incidents or global project support.

• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn advanced cybersecurity solutions.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Awareness of IT security compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
