Job Summary

OneTech Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Remote Bookkeeper – Small Business Tax Support to join our growing finance and advisory team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities for a portfolio of small business clients while supporting tax preparation and compliance processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a remote environment, has a strong understanding of accounting principles, and enjoys helping entrepreneurs maintain accurate financial records and meet their tax obligations efficiently.

This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency for our clients. You will work closely with tax advisors, accountants, and business owners to deliver reliable financial data and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple small business clients.

  • Record daily transactions, including income, expenses, payroll, and bank activities.

  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations on a regular basis.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Support tax preparation by organizing financial data and documentation.

  • Assist with GST/VAT, sales tax, and other statutory filings as required.

  • Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, or similar platforms.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a remote environment.

  • Understanding of small business tax requirements and compliance.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.

  • Prior experience supporting small business clients is highly preferred.

  • Experience working with tax professionals or assisting in tax preparation is an advantage.

  • Remote or virtual bookkeeping experience is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, remote position.

  • Standard working hours aligned with business operations (flexible scheduling may be available depending on client requirements).

  • Occasional extended hours during peak tax seasons.
