Job Summary

IT Sight Technologies is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Mortgage Underwriter to support Tier 1 banking projects across major financial institutions. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating residential mortgage loan applications, assessing credit risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and investor guidelines. You will work closely with loan officers, processors, and banking stakeholders to deliver accurate underwriting decisions while maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite residential mortgage loan files (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA).

• Analyze borrower creditworthiness, income, assets, liabilities, and property documentation.

• Ensure all loans meet investor, agency, and regulatory guidelines.

• Make sound credit decisions: approve, suspend, or decline loan applications.

• Identify and mitigate risk by flagging discrepancies, fraud indicators, or compliance issues.

• Communicate clearly with loan processors and banking partners regarding conditions and decisions.

• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all underwriting decisions.

• Stay updated with lending policies, banking regulations, and underwriting standards.

• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks set by Tier 1 banking clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. mortgage underwriting guidelines and credit policies.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

• High attention to detail with strong documentation accuracy.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• Proficiency in mortgage systems such as LOS (Loan Origination Systems).

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines efficiently.

• Knowledge of compliance, regulatory frameworks, and investor requirements.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriter.

• Experience working with Tier 1 banks or large financial institutions preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Conventional, FHA, VA, and government-backed loans.

• Prior experience in remote underwriting or offshore banking support is a plus.

Working Hours

• Full-time, remote position.
