Job Summary
ICAR-IARI is seeking a motivated and research-oriented Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Seed Science to support ongoing advanced research programs in seed technology, quality enhancement, and crop improvement. The selected candidate will contribute to experimental design, laboratory and field trials, data analysis, and scientific reporting. Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and executing seed science research experiments in laboratory and field conditions.

Conduct seed quality testing, germination studies, vigor assessments, and physiological analyses.

Collect, compile, and statistically analyze experimental data.

Maintain accurate research records, lab notebooks, and databases.

Support preparation of technical reports, research papers, and project documentation.

Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and field plots.

Collaborate with senior scientists, project staff, and external partners when required.

Follow institutional biosafety, quality, and research compliance protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Master’s degree in Seed Science & Technology, Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, or a closely related agricultural discipline.

NET qualification (ASRB/UGC/CSIR) or equivalent, if required by project norms.

Strong understanding of seed biology, testing procedures, and crop production systems.

Proficiency in basic statistical tools and MS Office applications.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented research environment.

Working Hours
