Job Summary
OneTech Associates is seeking a highly detail-oriented and dedicated Online Transcriptionist to join our remote medical transcription team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing and formatting medical reports from audio recordings provided by healthcare professionals. Your work will directly support doctors, hospitals, and clinics in maintaining precise patient records. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the healthcare sector from the comfort of your home.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe audio recordings of medical consultations, diagnostic reports, and treatment summaries with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure correct usage of medical terminology, abbreviations, and formatting standards.
- Edit and proofread transcripts to maintain clarity, grammar, and compliance with healthcare documentation guidelines.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA or applicable data protection laws.
- Communicate with supervisors or healthcare staff for clarification of unclear dictations.
- Submit completed transcripts within agreed deadlines while maintaining quality benchmarks.
- Maintain an organized database of completed transcription files.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Strong typing speed (minimum 50 wpm) with high accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in transcription software.
Experience
- Preferred: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical transcription.
- Entry-level candidates with relevant training or certification in medical transcription will also be considered.
Working Hours
- Flexible working schedule with the ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required depending on project needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong command of medical vocabulary and industry-specific phrases.
- Ability to identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in dictation.
