Job Summary


WellBeing Foundation is seeking a compassionate and motivated Community Health Worker to support our mission of improving health outcomes for underserved communities. The ideal candidate will act as a vital link between the community and healthcare services, providing education, guidance, and assistance to ensure better access to health programs and preventive care. This role involves working closely with families, local health authorities, and NGOs to promote healthy lifestyles and address critical health challenges.



Key Responsibilities



  • Educate community members on health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, maternal health, and disease prevention.

  • Assist individuals in navigating healthcare systems and connecting them with appropriate services.

  • Conduct home visits, community meetings, and health awareness sessions.

  • Identify health risks and help develop intervention strategies tailored to community needs.

  • Collect and maintain accurate health data for monitoring and reporting purposes.

  • Support immunization drives, screening programs, and emergency health campaigns.

  • Collaborate with local healthcare providers, NGOs, and government agencies to improve health outreach initiatives.

  • Advocate for community needs and ensure culturally sensitive health solutions.



Required Skills and Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or Social Work is preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse communities.

  • Basic knowledge of health education, disease prevention, and community development.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in local languages and English is an advantage.

  • Comfortable using smartphones or basic digital tools for reporting and communication.



Experience



  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, health education, or related NGO work (freshers with relevant volunteering experience are encouraged to apply).



Working Hours



  • Full-time role with flexible working hours based on community schedules.

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required for outreach activities.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong empathy and problem-solving skills.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with marginalized groups.

  • Knowledge of basic health practices and preventive care.

  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
