We are seeking a creative and self-driven Freelance Social Media Manager to support digital marketing efforts for Canadian brands across various industries including lifestyle, retail, education, and tech. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute content calendars for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter)
- Create and curate high-quality content (graphics, captions, videos, reels, etc.) tailored to each platform and audience
- Monitor performance metrics and provide regular insights and reports to clients or internal teams
- Engage with online communities by responding to comments, messages, and brand mentions
- Stay up to date with social trends, algorithms, and platform updates
- Collaborate with designers, writers, and marketing teams to align messaging and campaigns
- Run paid ad campaigns and analyze their performance (optional, based on experience)
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands or personal projects
- Strong written communication and storytelling abilities
- Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of scheduling tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, or Meta Business Suite
- Basic understanding of analytics tools (Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, etc.)
- Ability to manage time independently and meet deadlines consistently
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (freelance, agency, or in-house)
- Portfolio of social media work is required
- Influencer management or paid ad experience is a plus but not mandatory
Working Hours
- Freelance/Project-based with flexible hours
- Deliverables are deadline-driven, not time-bound
- Ability to attend occasional virtual check-ins during business hours

- Strong sense of brand voice and visual identity
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and detail
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Up-to-date knowledge of Canadian market trends and online communities
- Ability to manage multiple brands/accounts simultaneously
