Job Description


We are seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious Online Research Assistant to support academic and scholarly research projects. This fully remote role is ideal for graduate students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals with a strong interest in academic research, writing, and data analysis.


You will assist in literature reviews, data collection, synthesis of findings, and the preparation of research materials across various disciplines, including the social sciences, humanities, and STEM fields.




Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct comprehensive online literature reviews using academic databases (e.g., JSTOR, Google Scholar, PubMed)

  • Assist with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis

  • Compile, organize, and summarize research findings for reports and presentations

  • Support the preparation of academic articles, grant proposals, and project documentation

  • Manage citations and references using tools such as Zotero, EndNote, or Mendeley

  • Ensure data integrity, source accuracy, and adherence to ethical research practices

  • Communicate regularly with research leads to provide updates and seek clarification on tasks




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field (or currently enrolled in a graduate program)

  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), Google Docs, and academic search tools

  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities




Experience



  • 1–2 years of research assistant experience (academic, nonprofit, or institutional preferred)

  • Experience with data entry, online research, or academic writing a plus

  • Prior involvement in academic projects, capstone work, or thesis research is highly desirable




Working Hours
