Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies or claims issues.
• Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices and billing regulations.
• Ensure all codes and claims are submitted promptly and processed within company standards.
• Assist with resolving patient billing inquiries and disputes.
• Keep detailed records of all claims and billing interactions for future reference.
• Work closely with the team to ensure the smooth processing of medical records and billing information.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (Associates degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred).
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and healthcare billing processes.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex billing inquiries.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.

Experience:

• No prior experience required; this is an entry-level position.
• Prior experience in healthcare settings, such as a medical office or clinic, is a plus.
• Internships or coursework in medical billing and coding are beneficial but not mandatory.
