Job Summary:

Amazon is seeking a talented and results-driven Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our India Accounting team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that drive efficiency and automation within Amazons accounting and financial operations. As an SDE, you will work closely with finance, tax, and accounting teams to build cutting-edge technology solutions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and optimizing data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions that streamline accounting and financial processes.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, data engineering, and machine learning teams, to enhance system capabilities.

  • Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Implement automation and process improvements to reduce manual financial operations and enhance data accuracy.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system outages.

  • Maintain and improve existing applications while integrating new features to meet evolving business needs.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards while implementing software solutions.

  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to best practices in software engineering.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial systems.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C++, or another object-oriented programming language.

  • Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.

  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data processing pipelines.

  • Working knowledge of AWS services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.).

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and optimize complex systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.


Experience:

  • 2+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience in financial, accounting, or compliance-related software development is a plus.

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
