OneTech Associates is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in providing residential care for teenagers. This role involves working directly with young individuals who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, supportive, and structured environment, ensuring the well-being and personal development of the residents.
Provide day-to-day support to teenagers in a residential care setting.
Establish a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the emotional and physical well-being of the residents.
Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the needs of each young person.
Encourage positive behaviors, life skills, and social development through mentorship and guidance.
Assist with educational support, recreational activities, and personal development programs.
Manage challenging behaviors in accordance with care policies and best practices.
Work collaboratively with social workers, educators, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the residents.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to care plans and incidents.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and regulatory standards.
Support young people in preparing for independent living by teaching essential life skills.
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in social work, psychology, youth work, or a related field is preferred.
Certification in child and youth care or equivalent qualifications (preferred).
Experience working with at-risk youth or in a residential care setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish trust and build positive relationships with young people.
Understanding of trauma-informed care and behavioral management strategies.
Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
A valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a youth support, social work, or residential care role.
Experience working with young people who have emotional or behavioral difficulties is highly desirable.
Full-time and part-time positions available.
Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as required.
On-call responsibilities may be included.
Understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and mental health challenges.
Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism.
