Key Responsibilities

Legal Translator

• Translate legal documents, contracts, court filings, and corporate agreements while maintaining accuracy.
• Ensure terminological consistency and adapt legal jargon appropriately.
• Review and proofread translations to ensure compliance with legal standards.

Legal Transcriber

• Accurately transcribe legal proceedings, depositions, and interviews from audio or video recordings.
• Ensure proper spelling, grammar, and legal terminology usage.
• Maintain confidentiality and data security of sensitive information.

Legal Interpreter

• Provide real-time interpretation during court hearings, client meetings, and legal consultations.
• Facilitate clear and precise communication between legal professionals and clients.
• Adapt to various dialects, accents, and legal terminology in real-time.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one additional language (Spanish, French, Mandarin, Arabic, German, etc.).
• Strong understanding of legal terminology and concepts in both languages.
• Experience in legal translation, transcription, or interpretation (minimum 1-3 years preferred).
• Ability to work with confidential legal documents and maintain strict privacy standards.
• Excellent listening, typing, and proofreading skills for transcription work.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills for interpretation.
• Proficiency with CAT tools, transcription software, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).

Experience

• Prior experience in court proceedings, law firms, corporate legal departments, or government agencies is a plus.
• Certification in legal translation or interpretation (ATA, NAATI, CIOL, etc.) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
