Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking reliable and experienced Long-Haul Truck Drivers to join our team. This role involves transporting goods across long distances while ensuring timely deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with all traffic and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive long-haul trucks to transport goods over intercity or provincial routes.

• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads properly to prevent shifting during transit.

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.

• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.

• Maintain accurate logbooks and records of trips, fuel usage, and cargo details.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members.

• Follow planned routes and schedules while adjusting for unforeseen delays.

• Perform minor vehicle repairs when necessary and report major mechanical issues.

• Maintain a high level of customer service when dealing with clients and delivery personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.

• Clean driving record with no major violations.

• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and highway safety rules.

• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission trucks.

• Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.

• Strong physical stamina to handle loading/unloading cargo when required.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-haul truck driving.

• Experience handling different types of cargo is an advantage.

• Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) is preferred.

Working Hours

• Full-time position with flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

• Long-distance travel requiring extended periods on the road.

• Rotational rest periods and mandatory breaks in accordance with regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and trip-planning applications.

• Ability to remain focused and alert for long driving hours.

• Basic mechanical skills for minor truck repairs.

• Strong organizational skills to maintain proper documentation.
