Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking reliable and professional Freight Delivery Drivers (CDL & Non-CDL) to join our team. As a Freight Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining excellent customer service. Whether you hold a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or not, we have positions available that match your skill level and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate delivery trucks (CDL or non-CDL) to transport freight to designated locations.

• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and secure transportation of goods.

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel.

• Follow company policies and procedures to maintain high-quality service standards.

• Assist in warehouse duties as required when not on delivery routes.

• Handle paperwork, including delivery confirmations and invoices, in an organized and timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license (CDL for applicable positions; Non-CDL for entry-level positions).

• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs or more).

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with GPS devices and delivery route planning.

• Compliance with DOT regulations and safety guidelines (for CDL drivers).

Experience:

• CDL Drivers: Minimum 1-2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.

• Non-CDL Drivers: Prior experience in delivery, logistics, or a related field is a plus but not required.

• Training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Working Hours:

• Full-time and part-time shifts available.

• Typical working hours range from 8 to 12 hours per day.

• Weekend and overtime availability may be required based on delivery schedules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.

• Ability to operate a variety of freight vehicles efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving skills in case of route changes or delivery issues.

• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor truck maintenance or troubleshooting.
