Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking compassionate and responsible Medical Transport Drivers to assist patients in reaching their medical appointments safely and on time. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy driving, have excellent customer service skills, and are committed to helping people in need.


Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities in a safe and timely manner.

  • Assist patients in and out of vehicles as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure a secure transportation experience.

  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicles.

  • Communicate with dispatchers and medical personnel to coordinate transportation schedules.

  • Provide a friendly and supportive environment for patients.

  • Handle medical equipment (such as wheelchairs or stretchers) with care.

  • Keep accurate records of transportation activities, mileage, and patient interactions.

  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or must be obtained after hiring).

  • Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow schedules.

  • Familiarity with GPS navigation and local routes.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.


Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in transportation, customer service, or a related field.

  • Prior experience in medical transport, ambulance services, or healthcare-related driving is a plus.


Working Hours

  • Full-time and part-time shifts available.

  • May include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on patient needs.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

  • Understanding of basic medical procedures and emergency response protocols.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
