Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Natural Language Processing (NLP) Intern to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop NLP models and algorithms.
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large-scale datasets for NLP applications.
  • Conduct research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in natural language understanding and generation.
  • Optimize and fine-tune machine learning models for performance and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and present project findings to stakeholders.
  • Work on real-world NLP problems such as sentiment analysis, entity recognition, machine translation, and chatbot enhancement.
  • Document project work, including methodologies, experiments, and results, for future reference and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Solid understanding of NLP fundamentals, including text processing, tokenization, language modeling, and semantic analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, NLTK, or SpaCy.
  • Experience working with machine learning frameworks and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Experience

  • Previous internship, research, or project experience related to NLP, AI, or machine learning is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and large-scale data processing tools such as Apache Spark is a plus.

Working Hours

  • This is a full-time, remote internship.
  • Flexible working hours with core collaboration times depending on your location and project team.
  • Estimated commitment of 35-40 hours per week.
