Job Summary:
UPS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Freight Data Entry Associate to join our UPS Logistics division. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry of freight-related data into our systems to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong data management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment. This is a critical role supporting our supply chain operations by ensuring data integrity and process efficiency across our freight logistics network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and maintain freight shipment data accurately in internal databases and systems.
- Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and freight invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with internal departments including logistics, finance, and customer service to resolve discrepancies and ensure data consistency.
- Monitor and track shipments, updating records as needed to reflect changes in freight movement or delivery status.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on freight activity, cost tracking, and key performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and client requirements in all data handling processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
- Handle sensitive freight and customer data with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data entry or administrative roles, preferably within logistics, transportation, or supply chain environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with logistics management or freight systems is a plus.
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry, logistics coordination, freight administration, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with logistics documentation such as bills of lading, freight invoices, and shipment tracking systems is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid work environment is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options available.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak operational periods.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of freight and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with ERP or logistics software (SAP, Oracle, TMS, or similar systems).
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve data discrepancies and workflow challenges.
- Strong focus on accuracy and quality in data entry tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving processes within the logistics industry.
