Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for Cigna customers via phone, responding to inquiries related to health insurance policies, benefits, claims, and services.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently while providing accurate information and support, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Document all interactions and transactions in our system with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to escalate and follow through on complex customer issues.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team performance metrics including call quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity targets.
  • Continuously update your knowledge of Cignas products, services, policies, and procedures to provide current and comprehensive assistance to customers.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially and adhere to all compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in customer service, healthcare, or related fields are a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to actively listen and convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and call center software systems.
  • High level of empathy, patience, and professionalism when dealing with customers.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably within a call center environment.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare or insurance industry is highly desirable.

Working Hours:

  • This is a full-time role, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.
  • Shifts may vary, with availability needed for morning, afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend shifts to accommodate customer needs.
  • Overtime opportunities may be available during peak periods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology, insurance claims processing, and HIPAA regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Adaptable and resilient, capable of navigating changing workflows and customer demands.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
