Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chat inquiries from customers, healthcare providers, and internal teams regarding healthcare benefits, claims, and policies.
  • Provide accurate information on Cignas healthcare plans, coverage, and claim statuses.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently and empathetically while adhering to company policies and compliance regulations.
  • Document all customer interactions and resolutions clearly and thoroughly in the system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and suggest process enhancements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team performance metrics, including service levels, quality assurance scores, and customer satisfaction ratings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to handle complex and sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proficient in multitasking while managing high call volumes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely with minimal supervision.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare, insurance, or call center environment.
  • Prior experience handling sensitive information and working within regulated industries is a plus.
  • Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment is desirable.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Flexibility to work different schedules to accommodate time zone differences and peak periods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of health insurance terminology and processes is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage stress and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and provide a positive customer experience.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare industry compliance standards.
