Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound inquiries from members regarding benefits, claims, provider information, and other health-related concerns via phone, email, and chat.
  • Guide members through Cignas products, policies, and services, ensuring accurate and helpful information is provided at every interaction.
  • Proactively identify member needs and offer appropriate solutions or escalate complex cases to specialized teams when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including clinical teams and claims processing units, to resolve member issues efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions and actions taken using Cignas CRM system.
  • Adhere to Cignas policies, regulatory compliance requirements, and service quality standards.
  • Meet and exceed key performance indicators such as customer satisfaction, call resolution, and productivity metrics.
  • Continuously seek to enhance knowledge of Cignas services and products through training and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced remote work environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, call center, or healthcare support roles preferred.
  • Experience in health insurance, managed care, or a healthcare-related industry is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations is a strong asset.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
  • Remote work with necessary tools and technology provided by Cigna.

  • Deep understanding of health insurance products and services or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience when dealing with members who may be experiencing challenging health situations.
