As a Patient Support Specialist at Cigna, you will play a crucial role in providing world-class customer service and support to our patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, delivering exceptional customer service via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Assist patients with inquiries related to medical coverage, claims, pharmacy support programs, and benefits.
  • Guide patients through complex healthcare processes with empathy and professionalism.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve patient concerns efficiently and ensure follow-up communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions in compliance with Cignas policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education to patients regarding available services and healthcare resources to support their treatment journey.
  • Identify and escalate any critical issues to appropriate departments while maintaining ownership of the resolution process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of customer service procedures and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on active listening and empathy.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
  • Comfortable working with CRM tools, call center technology, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, patient support, or a call center environment, preferably within the healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Experience working with healthcare benefit programs, pharmacy services, or patient advocacy services is highly desirable.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible scheduling with shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM (local time), Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional weekend or holiday coverage may be required depending on patient needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry practices, terminology, and patient support protocols.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving procedures and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
  • A proactive approach to continuous learning and development.
