As a Remote Pharmacy Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our pharmacy customers, providing exceptional service, resolving inquiries, and ensuring a seamless pharmacy experience. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping members navigate their prescription benefits while representing Cignas values of empathy, integrity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls related to pharmacy benefits, prescription orders, medication refills, and prior authorizations.
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding pharmacy policies, prescription status, and insurance coverage.
- Assist customers with order placements, prescription processing, and address any issues related to delays or billing.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure timely prescription fulfillment.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all customer interactions in accordance with compliance and quality guidelines.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics including call handling time, customer satisfaction, and resolution rates.
- Proactively identify and suggest process improvements to enhance customer experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening and empathy.
- Ability to handle high-volume calls and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, CRM platforms, and pharmacy management software.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
- Prior experience working in a call center or remote customer support role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management (PBM) or insurance processes is a plus.
Working Hours
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work shifts between Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 8 PM EST; occasional weekend or holiday availability may be required based on business needs.
- Remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the U.S.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of pharmacy operations, insurance verification, and claims processing.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and in challenging situations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
