Job Summary
Hospital Jobs is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Remote Evening Customer Service Representative to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals, and partners, providing exceptional service and support. As an essential member of our customer service department, you will assist with inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure a seamless experience for our clients. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position, with evening hours to support our 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chat inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide accurate information regarding hospital services, appointment scheduling, billing, and other general inquiries.
- Resolve customer issues efficiently and empathetically, escalating complex cases when necessary.
- Document all customer interactions clearly and accurately in the CRM system.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Meet and exceed individual and team performance metrics, including response times and customer satisfaction ratings.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all other healthcare regulations.
- Remain up-to-date with company policies, procedures, and service offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in healthcare administration or customer service are a plus.
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and remote communication tools such as Zoom or Teams.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while working independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a customer service or call center role, with experience in the healthcare industry being highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of healthcare operations will be an advantage.
Working Hours
- Evening shifts between 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (EST), Monday through Friday.
- Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be required based on business needs.
- This is a remote role; candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of customer service best practices.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to de-escalate challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
