Job Summary
Apple Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Mac OS X Desktop Support Engineer to provide best-in-class support for our internal teams and end users. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and performance of Mac OS X desktops and related hardware and software environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Apple’s macOS platform, have strong troubleshooting abilities, and deliver exceptional customer support in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical support for Mac OS X systems and related software/hardware.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to system performance, network connectivity, application errors, and security.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, peripherals, and software updates.
- Ensure endpoint security compliance by managing device encryption, antivirus, and patching protocols.
- Maintain and deploy systems using tools like JAMF Pro, Apple Remote Desktop, and other MDM platforms.
- Document support issues and resolutions in ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Provide end-user training and support for productivity tools including Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and Apple-native apps.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure system compliance and data integrity.
- Participate in projects involving device rollouts, OS upgrades, and application testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in macOS system administration and support.
- Deep knowledge of Apple hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with MDM tools, particularly JAMF Pro, Apple Business Manager.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and VPN configurations.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical support role focused on Mac OS X systems.
- Experience with enterprise IT environments and customer-facing support is strongly preferred.
- JAMF certification or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) is a plus.
Working Hours
- Full-Time Position (40 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Occasional on-call availability for urgent support
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Solid understanding of macOS architecture, security, file systems, and shell scripting.
- Familiar with ITIL service management principles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
