Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat regarding health insurance plans, claims, benefits, and eligibility.
- Accurately interpret and explain complex healthcare coverage, policy details, and billing information to customers.
- Assist customers in resolving issues related to claims processing, network providers, and billing disputes.
- Document all customer interactions thoroughly and maintain accurate records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as claims, underwriting, and case management to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
- Educate customers on available health and wellness programs, resources, and support services offered by Cigna.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality while handling sensitive health information.
- Continuously update knowledge of healthcare regulations, industry trends, and Cigna’s products and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare customer service, insurance, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of health insurance concepts, claims processing, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in using customer service software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Empathy, patience, and a customer-centric mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within healthcare or insurance sectors.
- Experience working remotely or in a virtual environment is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with flexible scheduling options, including day, evening, and weekend shifts to accommodate customer needs.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime availability may be required during peak periods.
