Cigna is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims and Billing Customer Support professional to join our remote team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between Cigna and our customers, assisting with claims processing, billing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding claims and billing via phone, email, or chat.
- Assist customers in understanding their insurance claims status, billing statements, and payment options.
- Process and verify insurance claims in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams including claims processing, billing, and providers to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions and transactions.
- Identify and escalate complex cases to senior staff or appropriate departments as needed.
- Provide guidance and support for billing disputes, payment plans, and claim denials.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of customer information at all times.
- Continuously update knowledge on Cigna products, services, policies, and industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in customer service, claims processing, or billing in healthcare or insurance sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and software applications with ease.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Empathy and patience in handling sensitive customer situations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity.
- Basic knowledge of insurance terminology, medical billing, and claims processes is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in customer support, claims, or billing roles, preferably in healthcare or insurance industries.
- Experience working remotely or in a virtual team setting is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position with flexible working hours to accommodate varying customer needs and time zones.
- Standard shifts generally include weekday business hours, with occasional evening or weekend coverage based on business requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
