Cigna Health Insurance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Virtual Customer Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As a Virtual Customer Care Coordinator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and facilitating access to healthcare benefits in a timely and professional manner. Key Responsibilities



  • Provide empathetic, clear, and accurate assistance to Cigna members via phone, email, and chat regarding insurance benefits, claims, coverage, and eligibility.

  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to healthcare providers as needed.

  • Identify and escalate complex issues to appropriate departments or specialists to ensure resolution.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of member interactions and case notes in company systems.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including claims, billing, and care management to support member needs.

  • Educate members on available resources, wellness programs, and preventive care options.

  • Monitor member satisfaction and provide feedback to improve service quality.

  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and privacy guidelines, including HIPAA standards.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Prior experience in customer service, healthcare coordination, or insurance-related roles strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

  • Proficiency with computers, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced virtual environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.




Experience



  • Minimum of 1-3 years in customer care or healthcare coordination, ideally within a health insurance or healthcare provider setting.

  • Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment is a plus.




Working Hours



  • Full-time position with flexible scheduling options to accommodate various shifts, including some evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Standard working hours typically aligned with Eastern or Central Time zones.

  • Deep understanding of health insurance products, terminology, and healthcare systems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to engage effectively with diverse populations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
