Job Summary


Hospital Jobs is seeking dedicated, reliable, and empathetic Night Shift Call Center Agents to join our remote support team. This is a work-from-home opportunity where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative teams during overnight hours. As the first point of contact, your role will be to ensure every caller receives accurate information, compassionate support, and timely assistance — even in the most critical moments.




Key Responsibilities



  • Answer inbound calls and respond to inquiries from patients, families, and healthcare providers with professionalism and empathy.

  • Triage urgent requests and escalate calls to on-call medical staff or relevant departments as per protocol.

  • Accurately record caller information, nature of inquiry, and follow-up actions in the internal database.

  • Handle appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and basic billing queries.

  • Follow hospital policies and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

  • Maintain call center metrics including average handling time, call resolution, and customer satisfaction scores.

  • Collaborate virtually with team leads and supervisors to ensure quality service delivery during the night shift.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in healthcare, communications, or related field preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and active listening.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, especially in emergency situations.

  • Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable using computers, call center software, and CRM systems.




Experience



  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a call center, help desk, or customer service role (healthcare setting preferred).

  • Experience handling sensitive or urgent requests during overnight or irregular hours is a plus.




Working Hours



  • Night shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (your local time zone)

  • Must be available to work weekends and public holidays as part of a rotational schedule.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Basic understanding of medical terminology is an asset.

  • Familiarity with telehealth and remote healthcare communication tools is desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • High degree of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
