Job Summary


Hospital Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Remote Technical Support Specialist to provide outstanding technical assistance during evening and overnight hours. As part of our 24/7 technical support team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the digital health infrastructure that supports hospital systems, medical staff, and administrative users. Your role is essential to ensuring smooth operations, especially during non-standard hours when timely resolution is vital to healthcare delivery.




Key Responsibilities



  • Provide first and second-level technical support via phone, chat, and email to hospital staff and system users.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to software, hardware, network connectivity, EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems, and internal hospital applications.

  • Document and track all support requests in the ticketing system with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams or vendors, following defined escalation procedures.

  • Monitor system alerts and respond proactively to minimize disruptions.

  • Assist in onboarding new users by configuring accounts and providing orientation on hospital systems.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy, and internal security standards.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements for efficiency.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

  • Proficiency in remote troubleshooting tools, support ticketing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems such as EMR/EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) is a strong advantage.

  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.

  • High-speed internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free remote working environment.




Experience



  • Minimum of 1–2 years of technical support experience in a remote or help desk role.

  • Prior experience supporting users in healthcare, hospital, or medical office settings is preferred but not required.

  • Experience with remote desktop tools and troubleshooting on Windows/macOS environments.




Working Hours



  • Evening Shifts: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (your local time)

  • Overnight Shifts: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM (your local time)

  • Flexible scheduling available across different time zones.

  • Weekend and holiday rotations may be required with shift differentials.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, IP, VPN, remote desktop protocols).

  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and account management.

  • Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong documentation and incident-reporting skills.

  • Passion for providing excellent user support in critical environments.
