Job Summary
Hospital Jobs is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare team. Key Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictations and convert them into written reports with high accuracy.
- Edit and proofread transcribed reports to ensure clarity, correctness, and adherence to medical terminology and format.
- Ensure timely delivery of completed transcriptions to the respective healthcare providers.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to clarify any unclear or incomplete information in reports.
- Use transcription software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently.
- Update and maintain knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Manage and prioritize transcription assignments to meet deadlines consistently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a similar role in healthcare transcription.
- Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
- Exceptional listening and typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
- Familiarity with transcription software and EMR systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documents.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive medical data.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in medical transcription preferred.
- Experience with specialty-specific medical transcription (e.g., cardiology, radiology, pathology) is a plus.
- Prior remote work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Working Hours
- Flexible working hours with a requirement to meet daily or weekly transcription deadlines.
- Ability to work full-time or part-time shifts based on workload and client needs.
- Remote position with no mandatory office presence.
